This should be simple but I can't change the tab title
 

I have tried to get this to work for 2 days.
All I want to do is change 'Sprint Music' to 'Music' on the tab. I already successfully removed the link to the Sprint Music Store by editing 26948339_manila.

I am editing 090661f7_manila. I am only changing 'Sprint Music' to 'Music' here:

Yes, I am disabling TF3D and soft-resetting - in this order:

Turn off TF3D
Soft Reset
Copy 090661f7_manila from \Windows to my storage card
Copy from my storage card to my PC
I edit the file in TextPad and make sure to save in Unicode.
Copy from my PC to my storage card
Copy from storage card to \Windows
Soft Reset
Turn on TF3D


The title on each of the tabs now shows as the IDS_ name - IDS_FAVORITEPEOPLETITLE, IDS_MUSICTITLE, etc. (in a very large font)

Once I go to the tab, after a slight pause (about a second) the title will change to the actual tab name 'People', 'Music' (that part DID work), etc. EXCEPT IDS_MESSAGING never changes to 'Messages' and IDS_SPRINTTV never changes to 'Sprint TV'. Plus it is kind of ugly to see the transition to the real title. (although once it has changed, it is ok until the next reset)

I've tried soft-resetting again and no matter what - it still shows the large font IDS_ name for a second or so before switching, and never changes the 2 tabs I listed.

What am I doing wrong? If I upload my 090661f7 (and the 26948339) file, could someone look at it to help me?

This is driving me crazy. I want to add the call history tab, but I can't even get this simple thing to work. I am getting very frustrated!

i just used TotalCommander and it worked just fine, and for the messages one its IDS_MESSAGESTITLE

Thanks for replying! - My problem is that when I move the file to the phone, the messages tab now shows IDS_MESSAGESTITLE in a large font instead of the word 'Messages' as the title of the tab. It is also MUCH slower changing from tab to tab.

Don't save it to your storage card and move it...Just edit using total commander like Reno and it should work. Thats how I have always done it too.
