Signal bouncing ALL over the place - RA to EV to 1x - constant 1x on calls
 

I just recently upgrade from a 700wx to the TP.

For some reason it seems that EVERYTIME I make a phone call it drops from RA or EV to 1x. I have NO idea what causes it. I've changed the slot cycle index to 1 and it didn't change anything.

I am also seeing a constant jump from full signal to 2 bars to nothing back to EV.

I live in a highly metro area not the sticks! Any ideas?

well it is always going to be 1x on a call.....voice is 1x and so is text

Yup, that's the nature of EVDO on CDMA networks, voice and sms goes through on 1x and data on EV.

On my Verizon TP it's the same as you describe, although I have no connectivity issues so it doesn't bother me. Phone works great!

I just noticed my Connectivity Status changed from EV to rA.

What's the difference? :scratch:

rA means you are in a EVDO Rev a area which basicly allows you to have a lower ping rate and higher download / upload speeds then evdo rev 0.

can we get the sprint version to indicate rev A coverage?

Yeah, I've never seen a Rev A indicator on my VZW TP.

I have crazy signal bouncing too. But it works, so my caring rate is rapidly dropping lol.

As far as I know, only Alltell devices can display the rA indicator.
