Re: My touch pro will stop charging randomly while plugged in.
I was on a trip to Gatlinburg & using the Telenav to get me where I needed to go & this happened to me. What good is all this technology if it can't be used? Unlimited talk & data & navigation is worth spit if the battery won't last long enough to use it. Don't get me wrong: I really like this phone, but these bugs are aggravating.

Re: My touch pro will stop charging randomly while plugged in.
The reason why it stops charging is because, when your phone reaches a certain temp it shuts off the charging mech in your phone. next time you plug it in take off your battery cover and feel your battery. if its hot let it cool off, i know there is a hack to make it so your battery dosnt overheat

Re: My touch pro will stop charging randomly while plugged in.
i dont have internet at my house and use my phone for everything and when im using the data connection heavily, for streaming whatever it does overheat. wont throw any errors but just stops charging. if you dont stop the connections it wont stop streaming and doesnt have time to cool down.

Re: My touch pro will stop charging randomly while plugged in.
Once the Touch Pro's internal temperature gage reaches anything above 37c it will stop charging, this is done to prevent your battery from going into meltdown and causing a possible leak or worst explosion. If you're traveling a great distant in your car I recommend using a AC vent clip. Allowing the cool are from the AC to chill the back of your phone will prevent it from heating past 37c and your device will remain charged for the duration of your trip. For those using the Touch Pro heavily while home or at the desk simply opening the keyboard will allow for greater air ventilation.
I agree with everyone HTC needs to design better batteries, but these problems usually only occur to us "power users". If you're interested in monitoring your batteries internal temperature I recommend using nuePower/Backlight CPL available from www.weienterprises.com/nue Hope this helps! |
