sprint nav totally blows. if you travel to an area that has bad phone service, you're sunk. the maps are downloaded as you go with sprint nav. the better solution is to have the maps onboard.

and has an example, my wife has an Instinct with Sprint Nav and she constantly has problems with it here in the Ft. Myers area. We're supposed to have high speed coverage all around but we don't. so. as a result, i don't have problems finding places in the area with my tom tom 7 or IGo8 and she has major problems with the crappy Sprint Nav.

Have you tried quickgps to download the latest satellite locations?

I also use the astrogps launcher to launch tomtom, have used since i had my mogul. It properly opens and closes the gps radio...i normally get full sat lock within 10 seconds

-i did update the quickgps
-gps on com4
-gps hardware port set on none
-baud rate 4800
-selected manage gps automatically

when i start tom tom 6 it says no gps device found...

i'll try anything you tell me cause i really miss having the gps...i never had to do anything with the mogul except put in tom tom on the micoSD and install...

why don't you have it set in TomTom to "built in gps" or whatever it is? flashing right now so I don't remember exactly how it reads.

I don't think that TT6 has that option. I always had to use other NMEA GPS reveiver and select the com port and the baud rate.

it doesn't have that option it has an option to use 'other NEMA GPS Reciever' and allows you to toggle the com port and baud rate

what version of tom tom are you using on your TouchPro?...if I have to I'll purchase another version if it works

TT7 has the option for built in GPS. I never had any issues with TT6 not working when using the other NMEA GPS reveiver option.

I am also using version 7.450 (9028 ) and maps v675.1409

Yup me too. I tried TT and didnt really like it. Once I installed Garmin Mobile it totally rox over the TT. The list of features are really cool which include.

Traffic (live)
Weather (by gps location or add city)
Google Local Search (by gps location)
Fuel Prices (by gps location)
