PocketShield, taskFacade, AEButton, and FingerMenu 1.10 are all programs I think offer great functionality and can perform for free.

Pocketshield gives u a 10 second dialog, and AEButton gives u like a 5 second dialog at startup, but other than that they are free.

I use AEButton plus to toggle TaskFacade. If I hold down the button in the middle of the dpad, taskFacade comes up. With zero animation in taskFacade, it acts pretty quick and is very useful.

Active sync Killer does just that it kills the activesync program from constantly opening itself and killing your battery, and when you connect to ur comp it starts right up. So basically you control when its running and when its not.
