AT&T blocking VOIP ports?
I guess AT&T is blocking the ports needed to use VOIP - does anyone know of a work-around?
Thanks! |
Re: AT&T blocking VOIP ports?
I have never had a problem using Skype on my Fuze. I have used it with 3G and HSDPA. Both networks seemed to work fine. The Fuze has the ability to video share, so I dont think it is even possible for AT&T to block any type of ports.

Re: AT&T blocking VOIP ports?
ook - First - skype is not true VOIP and doesn't use the same ports and standard VOIP - skype works just fine for me. I'm 100% sure that AT&T is blocking the ports over their HSDPA and 3G network - I've expolored it very carefully and there is no doubt AT&T is screwing us and blocking the ports. I assume its a $ thing - don't want us to use their bandwidth to get nice cheap VOIP calls when they can screw us and make us use their network for phone calls and use our minutes.

"..... It is strictly against the terms of service "TOS" to conduct VOIP telephony over the AT&T mobile phone data networks. ....."
Well - so much for that. I think I'm going to return my phone and demand my money back - what a bunch of *******s! They ever here of NET NEUTRAILTY ??!!!!! |
