How to get a better opera experience??

Ok so I dont completely hate the opera browser but I remember it working so much better when I had the leaked Beta. The one that came with my TP just seems.... off... I relize this is probly a specail version of the mobile browser consdiering all the fancy TP only features. My question is has anyone modded or is there any new versions that still work with all the TP features just only does so better?

The fact that all my pages are mobile is kinda stupid (yes ive done the hack to make it so i show up as IE or firefox but that still very buggy) Also as I recalled my old version of Opera was able to play flash (not very well but it did it) considering the differnce in power between the mogul and the TP I was kinda hoping for better results.

Also yes I know about skyfire Ive been using it since its first beta run. But I paid for this gorgious VGA screen I WANT TO USE IT!

So let me know your oppinion on browser experience. Maybe I can learn from it and do as expected.

PS: Anyone figured out how to change double tap zoom ammount on opera?

Hmmm I heard alot of people saying the onscreen zoom is realy annoying... and I dont realy zoom that much. VGA screen and all makes it rather easy to read alot of stuff zoomed all the way out.

my problem with Opera is that on some pages I can't simply choose the "back" option to go to a previous page. All it will do is scroll up the page in reverse order to how I scrolled down, one click at a time. I've tried multiple ROM's and see that same behavior.

I would give this version a shot. I'm using the same one and it works good.

My biggest gripe about Opera Mobile is the auto-rotate which tends to slow things down drastically if I inadvertently wag my TP. I have a version which does NOT do this, 9.5 build 15233, but was wondering if there's a way to turn this off on all later versions as well...

Onscreen zoom can be disabled through the registry. I dont like it either.

Problem with display of images (pictures).

The problem I am having is that images sometimes just display as a placeholder. If I am at a site that is primarily photos, then click a photo, the resulting larger image is sometimes a box with the word "image: - sometimes it is not. And it does not matter if the image opens in a new window or the same. I can't seem to figure out why this happens and if there is any pattern to it.

Look for flash lite 3.1. It works, but can be a bit annoying (soft keyboard pops up when you click on a flash object, slower loading of pages with tons of flash elements).

I did install flash lite 3.1 but still not working right with my stock version of Opera. I guess I just have to sit here and hope Fennec is good. But I personaly hate firefox and I've seen video walkthroughs of Fennec and Im not very impressed.

Any problems reinstalling original version after installing another?

Is there a way to get it to not try and change orientation based on the G-Sensor? It's slow and laggy and just ruins the whole experience.

This is my main complaint with the stock version on the Diamond, as well.

I believe you can change the registry key HKLM\Software\Opera\GSensor\IdleTime to some large number of miliseconds.

I'm not a huge fan of this, since it feels like a band-aid. I would prefer a permanent fix to just disable the rotation. However, it definitely does what I was looking for, which is it won't rotate if i jiggle it a bit. And usually, what happens is that it basically locks up for like 10-15 seconds while rotating then rotating back unless you hold perfectly still.

I see some g-sensor settings under the HTC software key with threshold settings, but i'm not confident to go playing with those just yet.

That's only for when the keyboard is out, not in general.
