I would say go for it. The longer the period, the more inaccurate your battery meter will be. If you would rather have better performance then I'd try 30 or possibly 60 and see if there is a difference.

+1...

Right, but if it polls every 30 seconds or every minute it can't possibly miss more then a few 10ths of a %, right? Poll 20 == 3 times a minute. Poll 30 = 2, 60 = 1

Seriously, the gauge is wildly inaccurate at 1% intervals anyway ;)

and has anyone done this, does it work?

I did not see any change in battery life by changing it to 5000. Honestly it seemed liked drained faster.

but 5000 is the default value, so you shouldn't have seen ANY change...

I have mine set at 60000, but don't see much difference in either performance, or battery life...

Yep mines at 60K now, no difference. I'm beginning to smell PLACEBO on the whole thing ;)

yeah one thing on battery life, all the tweaks and everything just don't seem to do much......maybe on stand by it does, but now I'm running the HD manilla, and after a hard reset the battery life is default, and I am seeing the same performance as before..... maybe there isn't anything to this battery life thing and we just need to wait for a new radio or rom from HTC....???
