Can I still use the Mogul/Touch power cables?
 

1. I sorta feel like this is a dumb question, but can the power cables (and the pc/usb connection cables for that matter) be used with the Touch Pro? Like would is the same voltage, and would it mess anything up?


2. I have a black berry car charger that I used for my Mogul and Touch, can that be used for the Touch Pro as well?

I still use my Mogul AC cords, hell I still even have my 6700 charger that I used to use for my Mogul after I upgraded and still use now at work for my TP. I also still use the USB splitter/adapters and the headphones and the case that came with the retail box, hahah.

As for the blackberry charger, I've used my friends BB charger but find that it charges excruciatingly slow. It's likely that BB chargers charge at a lower rate than ours do.

Exactly. I've noticed this same thing, which is what got me asking this question. I didn't know if it charged at a lower voltage, which i think it does, and if that lower voltage would matter.

So could the BB charger mess anything up?

As far as all the HTC products (mogul, touch, etc.), do they all charge at the same voltage?

So to add to the stupid question and before I fry something. My stock usb cable that came with my tp is starting to fray because I pull out on the cable and not on the actual usb part. Can I use another usb cable to plug into my stock charger and charge the phone that way?

From what I remember almost all USB phone chargers charge at the same voltage (5V) since that is what powered USB ports on computers and such typically provide. The difference between chargers is usually there amperage it runs at. I think read somewhere that Motorola and BB chargers only charge at 500ma, whereas HTC ones charge at 1000ma or 1A. For phones like ours, they can typically handle anything from ~1A down, whereas BBs or Motorolas, since they were build to handle only .5A, might burn something out if connected to our chargers. I know for a fact that if I plug a Motorola into my HTC charger, it gives a noncompatible AC charger error.

And yes, you can use any miniUSB to USB cord to connect to the PC, or AC adapter. They are all essentially just wires and since USB is a standard, they are all wired the same way

i have a charger for the touch pro in every room at my house, 4 chargers.

from the 2 6700's, 1 mogul, 1 touch pro...

The miniUSB will work in the phone end. I got that part, but will the stock charger will charge the phone through a different usb cable other than the one supplied?? I just don't want to fry my phone because I have broken my usb cable

All the HTC adapter is is a usb port that plugs into the wall. Any cable will work. If the plug fits, use it, that's what I always say (when it comes to USB at least).

I use a belkin playstation portable car charger that I got at Walmart for $5. I think it dates back to my 6600 -> 6700 -> 6800 -> TP

I also have several motorola ac chargers that came with various bluetooth headsets. None of these have done any damage to my phones (that I am aware of...)

Most (if not all) phones can deal with the minor difference in amperage. I charge a BlackBerry Curve with my HTC charger day in and day out with no ill effects, and the car charger I have is a Motorola one designed for the RAZR. You're fine.

thanks for the answers guys. i didnt try it yet but now i know i caan use my titan chargers for my touch pros! thats sweet!
