I have the stock 1.03.15F radio and get similar slow speeds.

Have you guys tried the Telus Radio?

Well, my tethering speed on my pro is pretty damn solid. When I am at work I tether quite a bit and most of the time I will have anywhere from no bars to 2 bars of signal and I still get 2meg down and about 350k up easily.

No...I really don't think there would be significant difference for me using a different radio b/c I get a really strong Sprint signal as it is. I obviously can't speak for everyone else though.

Re: Touch Pro tethering speeds suck...

I've noticed pretty slow tethering speeds as well. I'm currently on stock ROM and stock radio... haven't run an actual test, but will when I get home and will post an update. Surely there's gotta be a reason because on the device itself my speeds seem pretty fast (anyone know of a good speed test to run on the actual phone?)

Edit: Found one - http://dslreports.com/mspeed

w/ a 1MB test file (you have to choose a smaller file, get the error that its too fast and then click the link to choose a larger file) I ran it 3 times, got measured at 544, 1087, and then 750kbps (which averages out to 793kbs).

I'm in Austin, TX and at the time of the test (while at work) I had 3-4 bars inside my building. So, looks like its the device itself, not just a result of the tethering... guess it seems so much faster because I'm usually loading mobile sites on the phone vs full sites while tethered. :P

How does the Telsu radio effect your battery life. I know there is a whole thread on this topic but the speeds on your phone are nice.

Honestly I don't really know, My battery lasts me all day with moderately heavy use....With the Stock radio/rom it didn't....But I am know on a custom rom(mightys) and telus radio, I haven't tried it with the stock radio...

On a side note, i can't wait until my phone gets speed like this(Home ISP)

But for now 2757 down and 584 up will have to do:geek:

I'm going to switch it here in a day or two to see if there is any difference for me. Yes, I did change my name on here. I'll post my results after I switch to the Telus radio.
