Ppc Usage Question
I have just boosted my tf3d and now my TP is running at 45-50%..... which is fine, i don't notice the loss of memory, and my TP is smokin fast.. no lag at all
But I noticed that the battery is going down faster, is this normal? i.e. about 5 or 6 texts 2 10 min. phone calls, and 2 hours off the charger and I"m down to 80%...... ???? |
Re: Ppc Usage Question
Oh yeah. You pretty much have two options:
1. have a slow TP that doesn't update emails, rss, weather, etc. as often (still pretty poor battery) -or- 2. rev it up and buy (or beg from sprint) another battery edit: i think having the tf3d access more RAM may lead to lower battery life (i'm no tech tho). |
Re: Ppc Usage Question
TouchFlo definitely eats the battery. I bought a spare battery to combat the problem.

Re: Ppc Usage Question
We were talking about some backup power packs here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=56023&page=3
I think I'll be placing an order soon. BTW does anyone have any battery drain stats on TF3D compared to standard WM today screen? |

Re: Ppc Usage Question
Here's what I am seeing...
"standby" drain with as many power tweaks as you can find is actually in the ballpark of the mogul. Yesterday I didn't use the thing much in the afternoon/evening, and even with a couple of bluetooth on sessions and the usual hourly IMAP email checks on 2 accounts, but almost nothing else, it used about 30% of the battery in 7 hours. "in use" drain seems much worse then the mogul. That big beautiful screen seems to be the major issue (radio drains are more or less the same) so if you spend a fair amount of time with your screen on (surfing, txting, looking at the weather animations ;) ) your battery will be dipping faster then it would on previous QVGA devices. |
Re: Ppc Usage Question
thanks for the replies, but my question is.... by upping the tf3d performance, Im using 45-50% and does this affect the batter opposed to 35-40% when it is stock, even on standby????

Re: Ppc Usage Question
No. The TP does not have the ability to power only some of the ram. It's all on, all the time, unless you fully power off the device (not just standby)
