Arcsoft sound entries won't go away...

Hey all,

I installed the newest 5.x version of arcsoft mms that is working with sprint (as you may have read). Anyhow, I ended up uninstalling it, and the sound field entries that it places under SETTINGS>PERSONAL>TONES/SOUNDS won't go away.

It adds a "new MMS received', "MMS Sent" and a few other actions that can have a tone assigned to them. As far as I can tell, I have cleared every arcsoft file (registry, etc) out - but there MUST be something left behind that is creating those tone assignment options...

Any clue?

Thanks,
Matt!

You may not want to hear this...but the last time (recently) I installed Arcsoft to my Mogul w/stock ROM and WM 6.1, I had to hard - reset my device!!! That was to fully rid my device of all uninstallable files and registry changes. If you know what you are doing you may want to check with the registries, only if you are comfortable.

Open your favorite registry editor and navigate to the following key:
Quote:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications
Next, scroll down through the RGUID's until you recognize a value of:
Quote:

"Default"="MMS_something you recognize.... "
Then delete the whole RGUID Key to remove the sound. And if your wondering an RGUID will look like:
Quote:

{A877D659-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}

Hey --

I am not quite sure I see what you mean... Can you reword your second step of
"Default"="MMS_something you recognize.... "

Thanks,

Matt!

Sure, well, I'm home now so just delete the following keys:

Quote:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{C346 5585-39EF-4c9b-B2A3-5558BF27BFB0}]
@="Messaging: New MMS"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{70C4 8D00-C1A6-43cf-B4C5-5B4E771E2462}]
@="Messaging: MMS sent"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{3C78 1384-05F3-4035-A8F9-C23F19A93AF0}]
@="Messaging: MMS downloaded"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{3C85 0505-06F3-5035-C8F9-C25F19A93AF1}]
@="Messaging: Sending MMS"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{3C85 0506-07F3-6035-E8F9-C29F19A93AF2}]
@="Messaging: Downloading MMS"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{0CD9 B91C-BEA7-446d-9857-BD2F1E6BFE80}]
@="Messaging: New MMS report"
The @ = "Default" ... That should get rid of those listings.

Edit: "Default"="MMS_something you recognize.... " are in orange. :)
