Usually droping them into the windows folder works for me.

Re: WMA files no longer associated & ring files don't ring or play now

I had the same problem with Mortplayer in my old Titan.

I really like MP, but I never installed it in my TouchPro because of these kinds of problems. I use either the TF3D player or Coreplayer 99% of the time. I also have PocketPlayer & KinomaPlay installed (Kinoma is another one that steals all the file associations without even asking permission) but hardly ever use either one.

Not a Stain it should work if you put them in the my documents folder but not in ringtones. I have mine in there (mp3) and they work fine. It does not seem to work for email or text if they r in my ringtones folder.

Edit: Actually I am sure this did not work on my phone before but now when I change the sound in email or text I can see the mp3s in the ringtone folder. Not sure why because I am sure I could not before. Maybe its different on different ROMS.

In any case, when I go to my phone->options->sounds, and select anything that's a .wma, I'm screwed. Oh, right...I mean pressing the |> (play) button to test it out yields three seconds of silence, and then the sound of my discontent. If I press okay, just assuming it might work anyway, it doesn't, and then the ringer-file choice goes back to the previous non-wma choice. If I select an mp3, all is good. So I can find a way around this, but I'd really like to know the source of the problem.

Oddly, wma's work just fine from file-explorer (now that I've fiddled about in the registry).
Did you find a fix? I have used Mort Player forever and it has never caused this kind of problem for me. maybe you can use total commander to associate the wma files to media player.
