Re: WMA files no longer associated & ring files don't ring or play now
I'm sure it supports many types of audio but I'm not sure why you're having that issue. When I use the Mp3 Trimmer it saves the trimmed out section as a ringtone in the file with the others. I never thought to see what file type it is. I'll play with my settings and see if I can't come up with something.

Re: WMA files no longer associated & ring files don't ring or play now
The path is correct. I'm becoming more and more certain that the overrated Mortplayer is responsible, as it made changes to default actions on most audio file types.
In any case, when I go to my phone->options->sounds, and select anything that's a .wma, I'm screwed. Oh, right...I mean pressing the |> (play) button to test it out yields three seconds of silence, and then the sound of my discontent. If I press okay, just assuming it might work anyway, it doesn't, and then the ringer-file choice goes back to the previous non-wma choice. If I select an mp3, all is good. So I can find a way around this, but I'd really like to know the source of the problem. Oddly, wma's work just fine from file-explorer (now that I've fiddled about in the registry). |

Remove the MortPlayer and test the ringtones. I personally use the music player less often than my phone rings...

What application does the phone use to ring with? Clearly not WMP.
I've long since removed mortplayer. The problem is the damage that mortplayer seems to have left behind. I can still use wav and mp3 ringtones, but I'd like to know what changed and why wmv files will play on WMP but not for the phone ringer.
So what app does the phone use to ring with? |

Re: WMA files no longer associated & ring files don't ring or play now
I had this problem when I first installed the excellent GSplayer. It 'took over' the major filetypes in the registry so that it was the default player for most audio files. Most of my my ringtones no longer played, or even vibrated if they were set.
When I unchecked those filetypes in the GSplayer preferences, my problem disappeared. I suggest that you re-install Mortplayer and check its' default file associations and change them in the programs preferences so that it's the default player for only the filetypes you want it to be. Now, I am making an assumption that Mortplayer allows you to change them, but I have never used it and don't know if that's an option. Good luck.
