TP keeps stop charging while plugging in thr usb and using wmodem
 

just wondering how common this experience is to everyone and if anyone has a solution. thanks

very irritating as i would have to stop, unplug the phone and connect it to the charger. seems to happen more often when i am downloading or browsing heavily ? related to too much power drain for usb to supply?

May be a heat issue. If you are charging while using data heavily the TP can really heat up. I'm not sure but your phone may be suspending the charging to keep itself cool.

Does it not charge at all or only after a bit (like when it heats up)?

There's also an option somewhere that chooses whether to charge while connected to a PC.

it would charge initially when plugged in but as i keep using the net after a while it stops charging. i do seem to notice that it would stop after a while if i start say downloading a 100mb file which would take about 45 min.. also happen sometimes with casual browsing but only after a while.

i do have that option to charge while connect to pc enabled

trying to get wmodem to work with bluetooth. no luck so far...

I have the same issue when using wmwifirouter. This is related to the TP overheating. When the phone overheats, the phone will no longer charge. It would not matter if you connect VIA usb or bluetooth, after awhile the phone will heat-up(due to radio usage and charging) and stop charging. You can try opening the keyboard and removing the battery cover, it does disapate some heat. I sometime use a small fan to help with the cooling. but other than that, it is a known issue with these phones.

The upgraded batteries have reports of less heat issues, but then you're doubling the thickness of your phone. I like the battery cover and keyboard idea though.

I've also read some threads on changing the settings on the temp sensor. I'm not sure whether this endangers the hardware but its a thought. Maybe in one of the essentials threads. Let me know if this fixes the issue.

i can't see how a little increase temperature due to charging while using the radio would damage the phone in anyway. my phone is never really too hot to handle... i can't even imagine charging would increase them temperature much anyway.
