Where are the Event sounds?

I am trying to find the folder that stores event sounds so that I can add my own custom ones. I thought it would be the \windows\rings\ folder but that only seems to have sounds for the Incoming call ring itself. I added a wav file to that directory and then when I went to change the event sound for activesync connect, that file was not available.

They have to be added to the \windows directory, and not a sub folder
