That is the main problem though, I cannot delete the email account. If I could I wouldn't have this problem.

It is the only current email account, the ghost one that is. I am unable to delete the file as it says it is in use. Is there any process that I can kill temporarily so I can delete it? I don't actually care about the email themselves as it syncs to my various servers so nothing is unique on the device.

I found this: this is a registry edit. It didnt use this, but it should work'
Sorry its taken so long to fix. For some reason, after I flashed a new rom and before I set up a new account, I was able to delete that file. Go to post #290 from this link

Allllright, finally got it. Thanks you guys for the help. Just an FYI to anyone who searches and winds up here:

- I could never get Resco to work, whether it was freshly soft reset or anything. Always said the file was in use.

- @mteagster: thanks for the link, gave it a try, but didn't have the MAPI regkey in that location so wasn't able to delete anything. Searched around for slightly different but similar locations but didn't find any answers.

My solution ulitmately came from here:

http://www.mobilitysite.com/boards/w...email-vol.html

Anyway, to cut the long story short, one way to do it is to use...

Mortscript (what else!)

Create a simple script:

Delete "\cemail.vol"

Place a shortcut to this script to a \Windows\Startup folder and reset: you will have a brand new cemail.vol file when everything boots up (at least I did).

Don't forget to delete the shortcut, or you'll have a brand new cemail.vol every time you boot.
Worked like a charm. Wiped my txt messages too, but I knew that would happen.

Greetings. I had this problem after my first restore w/spb backup. I went to sktools/message files and was able to delete everything from there individually. It was a wierd system email that i couldnt access from any email app or screen. But, sktools came to the rescue :)
