Is there a Noob thread???
 

Hello all, I am very much interested in hacking my phone. I see Im in the right place, I have a gazillion questions, I've done my share of searching, and there are alot of "noob" questions I have that I cant find answers to. So before I piss any of you nice gentlemen with stupid *** redundant questions. I was wondering if there was a noob sections I could start with before i start embarrasing myself.

Since you are new, I would highly recommend skipping anything related to flashing a new ROM. Learn the basics, and then play with some of the ROMs out there once you're comfortable and have a better idea of what you like/want. The Touch Pro Essentials thread that cforster posted a link to has a lot of great information.

im a noob and went right on to unlocking/flashing/and installing a new ROM. =) YOU CAN DO IT! lol

Yes, you can do it because there are great guides around here, but I feel that most new people probably don't know enough about what they like or dislike enough to make an educated decision on a new ROM. It's strictly a matter of personal opinion. To each his own.

Thanks, part of my problem is what is flashing? What is ROM? What is hard lock? Blah, blah, blah. Im not even comfortable with the terminologies. Thanks everybody for the feed back, My brain works in overdrive so im sure i will pick everything up quickly. I just like to know 100% of what im getting into / doing before I do it.
