Program storage...Where?
What is the preferred location for program storage? What are the pros and cons of main memory versus storage card? Thanks.

Re: Program storage...Where?
I always start with the card as most applications that just gotta be in main memory will prompt you of that requirement when you begin installation. Start up time may take a bit longer, but operation should be as usual.

Re: Program storage...Where?
I see no point in storing programs on the memory card. What do these phones have? Something like 300 or 400 mb internal storage available, and the Average cab is 2-4mb. You would need alot of programs installed to start filling it up, and at that point you would probably have other problems then internal storage space. I would think that startup times and speed would be slower with programs on the card, and I like to keep my storage card clear and organized so I can easily find what I'm looking for (pictures, movies, videos, and music), because thats what a 16gb card is made for...

Programs internal, Data on card. That's the way I roll ;)

Re: Program storage...Where?
The internal storage has plenty of space for all of your programs. I install all of mine there, it is faster, anyway. My SDHC card is still horribly slow (120kb/sec max on a class 6 card FTL) and loading programs would be extremely painful.
I keep all my music, .cabs, and other files on the card though. |
Re: Program storage...Where?
Here is the rule I stick too with storage.
Games no question storage card to big and load time is the only thing that will be slower they run fine once loaded GPS Software program goes main memory and all maps go storagage card all other software main mem unless they are extremely big software just runs better in main memory resco explorer main mem pocket manchanic main mem S2U2 main mem TOMTOM program main mem maps storage card music, videos, pictures storage card |
