eh i say for anyone that wants to try it, go ahead and do it. it wont hurt anything and u could just change it back if u dont like it. i noticed alot more battery being saved, but i also turned off checking my email except like twice a day and turned off auto updates on just about everything.

as far as the longer re-connects go, it does take alittle longer, but it only adds probably a few seconds or so....good luck!

You CAN answer the phone while DATA is ON for CDMA devices.

1. Navigate to HKLM\Comm\CommMgr\Planner\Settings\

2. Delete the following key: "SuspendResume"

3. Also add "CacheTime" value of 60 (if it didn't already existed)

3. Soft Reset the device

I can now answer calls while DATA is ON. It will Disconnect when idle for 60 seconds.

Thanks wizkidd04

Would this hack allow use of the CallerID utility (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=449608) which gets name/address of unknown callers and works on the HTC Pro GSM (and requires a data connection during calls to work) ??

Setting it to like 3 minutes does better, at least for me. If i browse a web page to check something real quick, my data connection wont terminate and i dont feel like terminating it myself, so setting it for 3 minutes gives it enough time for me to read my page, and disconnect.

Yep, the hack doesn't work for that... I got great battery life today, but I can't answer a call...The S2A slider sticks to the left side, And then I get network problems when trying to reconnect to the internet. I have to soft reset.

OK, after a little more testing... You can't answer it with the new diamond s2a, you have to use the green button. However it took about as much time as three rings to get it to where you could talk to someone....I'm undoing the hack.

cmon people lets use a little brain power. If it shuts off its going to reconnect, it wont stop you from browsing or getting push email. Nor do i believe its killing your connection (have to redial #777). Ive never had my connection go back to the solid EV symbol from the dormant arrows. I believe all this is doing is dropping the connection after 60 seconds into dormant if theres no activity.

also if youre using a custom ROM- Juggs, Juicy, Calcu kitchen, prob others- then youve already had this set to 60 by default because most cooks use this on their ROMs. Ive seen no noticable giccups in use from thise in months of using it.
