get your msl if you don't have it, and hit ##778# and go to modem settings and change your slot cycle index to 1.

Does this only happen when you have data active? Are you in a 1X area?

did you possibly turn off the phone? (option in settings for the phone radio) ...just a thought...

Thats exactly what I was thinking!!!!!! Ahahahaha

No for real... There are tweaks for this. You need to search them but I know you can make tweaks to the ring delay in apps like Dimaond Config and Advanced config.... Both I think? Be glad you dont have the VZW version. This ring light in the dpad is crazy. Dances around for like 30 seconds... Then the damn thing rings. Good thing I always hve th phone in front of me.

I dont know... Im going back into my hole now......

Also, I wonder how changing out the radio would affect that? Anyone with exp with this issue ever try solving by swapping radios?

Re: sprint touch pro - calls going directly to voicemail

I had this problem constantly with my sprint tp activated on verizon. The incoming call delay causes it to go to vm after like two rings. The problem is caused by the HTC dialer skin. Switching to the wm dialer cures the problem, it rings instantly with that setup (a solid 2-3 rings faster than the HTC dialer)

Re: sprint touch pro - calls going directly to voicemail

As I understand it from the manual, when the data connection is open (like push email or downloading), the phone is automatically disconnected and all calls go to voicemail. If anyone knows a good way around this so that the phone overrides or works with data connected, I'd really like to hear about it!

that's not true (at least not on my phone anyway)

I just opened a data connection on mine & then called myself from a landline & it rang through just fine.

how do you change to the wm dialer?

Re: sprint touch pro - calls going directly to voicemail

The problem is this:

On the stock rom, the registry setting for a crucial phone function is incorrect. If you navigate to HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings, you will see the value name SuspendResume entry is MULTI_SZ, which is wrong (value data is #777).

Delete this entry, create a new REG_SZ value with a value name of SuspendResume and a value data of #777. Soft reset, and there is no need to disable the stock dialer anymore, and rings come through as they should.

I just checked this reg entry in mine & it was already set to #777 (leaked vz ROM) & I can tell you that absolutely DOES NOT correct the delayed ring problem. Although the stock WM dialer does not look as cool or have as many features as the HTC, it rings quite noticeably faster (I have A/B'ed the two dialer skins at least 10 times testing this out). I love the HTC dialer, but it was driving me nuts watching it light up & blink for 2-3 rings & never make a sound while sitting in a cradle on my desk at work.

I use a custom skin to make the WM dialer look a little better;

The value data is correct, but did you check if it was a Multi_Sz or Reg_Sz entry? Cause I'll take the Pepsi challenge any day....I changed mine 5 days ago, went back to the stock dialer and have not had any problem since.

I thought I did, but let me go check it again. I hope I was wrong, I would love to go back to the stock skin but it is much more important to me to eliminate the ring lag............

ok....is there a true fix for this problem or not? I'm experiencing the same problem. Apparently Sprint nor HTC don't knows about it, because I'm not getting any help from either.

Where did you get this info? I just got the TP last week and today my friend just called me 3 times, left 2 voicemail messages and I received no notification (not even a voicemail notification). The only reason I knew is because she was texting me at the same time and I was receiving those. I'd like to try this if it's a confirmed fix but I can't find any other information on it. Thanks.

Value Name = SuspendResume
Value Data = #777

There was a link posted in one of the other subjects on this site (I think it was in the S2A posts for Juggalo?). I followed a couple of the links, which linked to other links, etc etc. I changed my registry entry (very suspect at first) but was blown away that it fixed the problem.

Here is the single thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...4&postcount=35
----search in the diamond forum for "delay answer"

Here is the workaround:

So the credit goes to shaggylive.

That's what I figured, thanks I'll go test it out right now.

I haven't used the HTC dialer skin in two months, I hardly ever call anybody anyway (I do way more texting) but I would still prefer to use the HTC skin just cause I think it's cool.

Re: sprint touch pro - calls going directly to voicemail

I hear ya. I haven't used it since this ringer problem as well. The biggest problem I had with switching to the WM dialer, though, was I couldn't change the volume during a call.

But now I love the HTC dialer, especially with S2A working!

Re: sprint touch pro - calls going directly to voicemail

Well, I realize no two phones are the same but changing this reg entry made absolutely no differeence whatever in my phone.

I deleted the original reg key & added the new on. I then enabled the HTC dialer skin & started calling my phone from a couple other phones to see if it lagged on the incoming calls.

As soon as I started testing it, I knew it didn't work. Calling from my home phone, I would get the bogus first ring you always get but the TP would both light up & ring the instant the next ring started with the WinMo dialer skin. With the HTC skin it was a full two rings later before the TP did anything at all so I'm back to the Wino dialer & its instant rings.

That sucks! The only other difference I have is I'm using the Telus radio and S2A. But I tested the registry change prior to installing S2A, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

The only other change I saw re-reading the posts was in the same key there was the Dword "CacheTime" that is set to 600 (decimal). It was suggested to change it to 60 (decimal), but I don't know exactly what it does, nor did I see an improvement.

Sorry it didn't work out......

!

yea, I have that problem myself. There is a cab that is supposed to fix that problem, but it's never worked for me (the volume graphic goes up & down etc so it looks like it's working, but the volume never actually changes)

That is not really a big problem for me, I just adjusted it once to the volume I like & I never change it during a call anyway so I can live with it.

I really wish there was a VGA big button dialer out there that looked just like the HTC but didn't use the ridiculous amount of memory that the HTC does & would ring like the WinMo on an incoming call. If there is, I haven't found it (& I've definitely been looking)

Dont know where I got this from, but here is yhe reg tweak in cab form if anyone still needs it. Obviously I had the same damn issue in the past, phone not ringing right away on calls. I thought I remeber it being caused by a advanced config tweak, not sure what one but the actual tweak that causes this is listed in other posts here.. As far as for calls going right to vm for some of u, not sure if this is your fix you were looking for, but look in your phone options, make sure DDTM isnt enabled. If so then disable it, cuz when enabled it sends ALLcalls to vm if you have an open data connection... Go to your phone pad, menu, optoons, services, scroll down to DDTM, hit get services.. I believe its disabled by default but coulda gotten enabled via reg edit.
