TP Randomly waking up, unlocking itself

I have searched threads here and on the sprint forums - nobody seems to have an answer to this very simple problem.

My phone is constantly waking up from sleep mode and sometimes unlocking itself (the unlocking is intermittent). IMHO if I put it in sleep, the only thing that should wake it from sleep is a PHONE CALL. That's it. Nothing else. The only data connections I keep on are Phone, Bluetooth, and Data Connection.

I don't want to install slide 2 unlock. I feel like this is a simple problem with a simple solution.

Is there one?
thanks

I have found that if the phone is locked and you slide it open, or even slide it a little the phone will unlock its self. That might be the cause of it waking itself up too.

That's a good point. I'll definitely try to be more concious of this...So that's one possible cause, is there a way to prevent it from happening when going to Roaming? I think that's happening at least. Tough to tell as I don't walk around staring at the screen to see if it's waking or not.

the TouchPro senses movement and wakes up as a defensive method. :P

I haven't thoroughly tested this yet, but it seems like it tends to wake up only when the light sensor senses light. If I put something on the sensor to block it from light, I have yet to see it light up by itself. Not sure yet, just a theory.

i find this to happen when I adjust the brightness through the registry. (setting it to zero when I am in bed) if i do not put it back to 1 and set the brightness to auto in the phone settings the phone will wake from sleep every 30 seconds. hope this can help

I have my TP in the case. It will also randomly wake up, even if it is in my backpack, in total darkness. The new one though does it less often than the old one, but still....

Maybe it is due to slight keyboard motion, but in my case I do not think it is the light sensor.

NO, i am sick of this problem
i am sitting at home watching tv and my pro is next to me on the table, NO movement, NO keyboard, NO light changes and nothing else, i even disabled push, activesync and any data related updates!!
it still wakes up at least once every 10 minutes sometimes more!!!
the only solution is S2U2, i wish HTC would step in on the next official rom update and either provide a proper locking solution with slide to answer, or fix this wakening up crap!!!

MOE

Re: TP Randomly waking up, unlocking itself

Unfortunately, I've experienced this terrible problem on multiple 6700's, Moguls and now my TP. As far as I can tell, it has no connection to motion, light, or anything else within the user's control. I was really hoping they'd solve this with the TP, but no luck. This one issue ruins the phone's experience as a whole. We shouldn't have to screw around with 3rd party apps on something as basic as this.
