Re: Remove touch screen?

it seems like instead of doing all of this work it would just be easier to apply the piece of plastic to the screen

Agreed. Just drop a few bucks for a protector from bestskinsever. All you have to do is make sure you clean your screen off completely, dip the film in some soapy water, apply and adjust it. Just do it before you go to bed one night and it'll be dry by the next morning. Most people I show don't even know the thing is on there.

Assuming you're not anal like me and sick of not getting it ABSOLUTELY perfect and being happy with the (no matter how slight) drop in visibility. I've been doing this for 5 years now and it just gets old.
Let's face it. No plastic covering looks as good as the naked screen.
They really need to come up with some way to just swap out the top screens like on welding helmets.

I like naked screen look. And lets face it, the minor scratches you pick up don't make a huge difference in visibility when the screen is on anyway. You won't get major scratches if you take care of the phone, and if you do, just get a replacement.

They just need to move to glass capacitive screens instead of these resistive screens, because they are more durable (even if not perfect).

Not using a screen protector is the technological equivalent of doing it bareback. Just practice safe touch screen people! Do you really want to get stuff on your phone that will stick with it forever?

Perfect analogy.
But no we don't want to have herpes forever,... check title/purpose of thread.

Although how long is forever REALLY?

How long does anyone keep their ppc before upgrading? A year maybe? That question would make a good poll.

Ive gone from vogue to titan to touch pro in less than a year, so yeah, I guess we don't really keep these phones long enough to really worry about them. Both my titan and my iphone have run naked for several months, and I own and operate a sandblasting company, sand being pretty much the worst thing to have around these screens. Both phones are noticibly scratched when off, but cant tell anything is wrong when they are in use. I am keeping my pro protected for now, as I prefer having a perfect screen.

I feel your pain. I work at a concrete plant. It looks like the moon with all the dust here.

Now we just need to find a site that sells the chrome lining. Maybe even something other than chips-if-you-look-at-it-wrong plastic.
