Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
I don't want to completely disable the soft keyboard. All I want to do is disable the auto-opening / auto-popping up of the soft keyboard everytime I tap or select an input field.
Anyone know how to do this? |

I just want the SIP keyboard to stop auto-popping whenever I click on an entry field. I still want a functional SIP keyboard I can use if I choose to. I've looked high and low for registry edit to make this happen but I haven't found anything. Nullkb works but some times I want to use the keyboard in Portrait mode and I have to manually switch it to something else to use it. May as well pop open the keyboard at that point. I want the best of both :( |

Re: Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
are any of you using MightyROM? I am and i only see the /ezsip folder and the word i see is "keyboardS" (not "keyboard"). When i set "keyboards" to 0, it still shows the software kebyoard.

Turn Off Keyboard from Automatically Popping Up
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip>: Create or change DWORD > TurnOffAutoDeploy from 0 to 1 I have been using this since the Diamond came out and it works for me. |

Re: Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
if you go with MightyROM's new 4.9.3 ROM, it won't pop up when in landscape mode with the keyboard out. Not sure what he did, but on 4.9.2 it would pop up when you click on a text box and disappear when you start typing with the physical keyboard, now it won't show up at all as long as the physical keyboard is pulled out! :)

Re: Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
None of the listed solutions worked for me either.

Re: Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
So it looks like some methods work on some ROMs and vice versa.
For those that have tried one of the methods and have the auto-opening keyboard disabled, which method did you use to disable the keyboard and what ROM are you using? |

Re: Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
Is there not a way to disable the soft keyboard auto-opening when tapping the address bar in Opera?
|
Re: Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
I've look high and low and still haven't found a working solution to keep the soft keyboard from popping up when I'm entering info into a field in opera. Does anyone have any solution that will not permanently disable the soft keyboard but will stop the auto deploy in opera?

Re: Disable auto-opening / auto-popping up of soft keyboard?
Hey all,
Does anyone have an issue with TouchPal covering the text field with the keyboard - making it impossible to see what you are typing in the text field, or where the cursor is, etc? Thanks, Matt! |
