Calls answered/ignored removing from holster

Anyone have a flat phone like the HTC Touch Pro or Fuze such that when you lock the phone or turn the screen off before putting in your holster, when the phone rings the screen wakes up and just moving the phone in the holster causes enough activity on the touch screen to either answer or ignore the call?

Looking for some ideas as to how to avoid this. Was not a problem on my XV6700 since the screen was a little bit recessed...

Thanks.
Martin

You need an app like Slide2Unlock or PocketShield. They lock your screen and require you to touch the screen a particular way to unlock it.

Use this....It will make your dial pad black (which I prefer) but you have to slide it to answer or ignore. It's from the touch HD. Works great on my TP. All you have to do is install, no need to disable TF3D!

Can't find the original poster To give him thanks though.

I'm gonna try that slide to answer.=D>

I've missed 95% of my calls because the person gets hung up on when the screen wakes up, How F-ing stupid were they not to have this from the beginning.

Installed and tested while I wrote this and it works. Thank God I can finally stop having to call EVERYONE back instead of just answering the phone.:headbang:

I would try your rom but I have never flashed a new rom before so I'm not sure what it curtails. Plus, honestly, My stock sprint TP is running flawlessly and has since day 1......maybe when I get up the nerve!! ;) But I have read great things about your rom!

Haha! No problem, just thought I would chime in if any issues would arise with the file. Thanks for sharing!

I've suffered the same problem as well. I ended up getting a program called TouchLockPro from XDA-Dev. Here's the thread over there:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444215

Its pretty good at locking the touch screen/buttons but to be honest I was looking for a slide unlocking program so I'm gonna give MrHawaii's program a shot. :)

Is there anyway around using the ## codes with this cab installed? Or will I have to uninstall it to use them if needed? No biggie either way.

Re: Calls answered/ignored removing from holster

PocketShield is the best there is right now & I have tried every single option available.

PS is not free, but the latest version works quite well & is worth every penny IMHO

Yes at this time you would have to uninstall the S2A to use the ## CODES and then reinstall. I have been trying to edit the DLL file (phcanhtc.dll) that I believe controls it all, unfortunately without success. Because these files were just basically ripped from the Touch HD International GSM version, CDMA stuff are not operable. The guys at XDA have started to try to get more people to give a shoutout to their carriers to update the ROM to include S2A. I will post those links in a bit on my thread.

Another thing you could do if you want to use ##CODES real quick and switch back to S2A is a Reg Edit that will disable the HTC Phone Skin and enable the WinMo dialer. Disabling the HTC Phone Skin disable the phcanhtc.dll file along with everything else it is dependent on, so ## CODES would be enabled with WinMo Dialer and phone functions. Then you can change it back to enable S2A without having to uninstall and reinstall the files. I apologize for the inconvinience at this time and best of luck.

Here is the reg edit to do that.
HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin
"Enabled" change value to "0" to disable HTC PhoneSkin (default set to "1")

Soft Reset of course after every Reg Edit.

Are you sure that will work?? I am using PocketShield along with a skinned version of the WinMo dialer as it gets rid of all the ring lag that the HTC dialer produces. The WinMo dialer will not dial ## codes however, when I need to use those I have to switch to the HTC dialer first.

I really enjoy the app at this point. The like out weighs the need to uninstall to use the ## codes. Besides I don't use them hardly enough since everything started working correctly on the phone.

yea, the ## codes are not something you really need more than once in most instances. I needed them when I made all the changes to convert my Sprint TP to verizon service & then to set stuff like the slot cycle index, but I don't think I've used or needed them since.

I did the reg entries to remove the curtain and it does not work properly for me. Half of the time the curtain does not go down when I need it too.. Any thoughts?

Re: Calls answered/ignored removing from holster

Someone get this.. I actually had to change the Reg entry from "1" to "0" and now the curtain disappears.

Mr. Hawaii... This software is amazing. I would like to jump through the interwebz and shake your hand

Re: Calls answered/ignored removing from holster

I have an HTC Touch Diamond. Just installed the "Black Slide to Answer with Curtain v3.cab" file (posted above) in order to prevent the accidental Answer or Ignore to be activated while the device is being removed from the holster. I now have a nice black & white keypad, but no slider appears when a call is being received. Should there be a slider button?

My other problem is that the screen goes blank after a call is connected (incoming or outgoing). At that point there is no way to see or use any of the on-screen icons, such as mute or speakerphone, etc. Is there any way to prevent the screen from going blank and locking up (to the touch)?
