Touch Pro and Windows 7 (Build 7000)
I tried doing a search, but I kept getting an error saying that my search was to short or something like that. Anyways, i cannot get my TP to sync. I can only use it as an external storage. Anybody got this working?
(i couln;t get Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 to download) |
Re: Touch Pro and Windows 7 (Build 7000)
From what I understand, Active Sync is not availbe in windows 7 (obviously) but WMDC is not either. Windows 7 was supposed to use something called "Device Stage" whether or not it was included in the Beta is beyond me, as I have not yet installed my copy - My guess is that it is not, as it was still in the early stages of development back in the beginning of December. If I run across anything to fix your issue, ill be sure to let you know.

Re: Touch Pro and Windows 7 (Build 7000)
I have been using windows mobile device center on Windows 7 pre-beta (leaked alpha) for quite some time now with no issues. It installed fine from the disc and has worked perfectly. Haven't moved up to the beta yet, and probably won't. Just going to wait on the final release for a purchase.

I installed WMDC and get the control panel button, but when I click it I only get connection options...and that's it.

how are you syncing?

Re: Touch Pro and Windows 7 (Build 7000)
As of now only a few devices are supported in Device stage under Windows 7. In the future it will replace Moble device center. In the mean time, it's the only way to sync Windows mobile device with Windows 7.

Re: Touch Pro and Windows 7 (Build 7000)
What I've found is that Vista 64-bit drivers seem to function correctly in Windows 7 64-bit for other hardware (i.e. my laptop trackpad). If you are having trouble, I would suggest trying to track down the Vista 64-bit drivers and giving them a whirl. WDMC should work. I just got Windows 7 up and running last night, so I can try it myself when I get home and get back to you guys.
