sms sound not working
 

I did a search and found a cab for email sounds not working and tried that but it didn't solve the problem. When I get a new sms the sound fails to play. It's checked under sounds and it plays there but not when new sms comes in. Doesn't matter which file I chose either. I can chose one of my own in storage (used to work), move that file to windows (never worked) or a stock on in the windows directory already loaded on the phone (doesn't work either). any suggestions?

make sure the sound is turned up (doubt its the problem but its the first step). next goto start | settings | sounds and notifications | and make sure there is a checkmark by "enable sounds for programs, and notifications". next step is a soft reset. then a hard reset. did this start after a program was installed?

yes sound is up b/c phone will ring. As for the checkmark, that was covered in my first post. checked and plays. soft reset doesn't correct problem. done a couple of hard resets and problem conts. started after ppckitchen flash. works in stock rom

I don't know, I don't think anyone has reported it in the kitchen thread.

* claps * congrats on taking all the steps. sounds like there may be an issue with something contiained in the kitchen. did you try to create a rom with no programs checked?

nope not yet. I might next time I flash if I can't get this solved before that. (that didn't occur to me!)
