I Hate Voice Command
I'm so mad, I finally tried it today while driving home. It's useless. I cannot get it to recognize my voice when there's any background noise at all, and doing 80 on the highway, believe me - there's noise. It only works in a very quiet environment, but not in the car where I need it the most.
I simply don't get it - does anybody use it at all? How? I want the old recorded voice program back. It was nice, fast and it worked without any problem at all. Is there any way I can get it? All I need is to be able to record couple short names and call them while driving. How hard it can be? |
Re: I Hate Voice Command
Isn't the normal speed limit like 65 anyways?
However Handster has a type of voice recognition app, but it requires you to record your voice for each action. So it's not as "smart" as MS's version, but it's well featured. I like MS Voice Command, it works well with my bluetooth and does what I need (in general). However it does lack a few things, like a better voice synthesizer. My TeleNav text to speech is better then Microsoft's version, and I can't add calendar events or choose a specific Song by TITLE not by vague groups like Artist, Album and Genre. Overall it came with the phone with no additional costs, so I can't complain. But there are alternatives out there... Too bad XDA doesn't have anything in the works...(to my knowledge). |

I use it constantly with my Bluetooth headset. Works very well and I'm in my car all day.
Are you trying to use it with a headset; the wired headset that comes with it, or just speaking to it? |

And, yes. I'm using a BT headset (BlueAnt). It works. I just tried recording a message and it sounds perfectly fine. Another question is - do I need to somehow uninstall VC before installing another application? How can I do this? |
