SOLVED!!! How to get the TF3D tab to show your music on your card?

is there any way to have the tab to display the music you have in your my music folder on your card instead of in the onboard memory?

I tried pointing the default using Advanced Config but it does not display all the music i have on the card unless i go to More and then view ALL Music.

Thanks.

My music is on the SD card root in a folder named Music. I only have three groups with 4 albums but all of mine show up just fine.

Same, except I have more. I use Salling MediaSync to copy my itunes library over and keep it updated.

It's just in \Storage card\Music\Artist\*.mp3 ... TF3D picks it up fine, if I add more songs, I have to go to the music tab, tap library, go to all songs, and tap a random song again for it to update the playlist with all the new songs.

ok, i'll try moving my folder to the root instead of buried in my documents.
cheers. i'll report back if it works.
Yes that was the key, the Music directory should be in the ROOT of your card.

Forgive my ignorance if this is a stupid question (kinda new to all of this) but what do you mean by it needing to be in the ROOT of the card? Right now, all of my music is stored on my 8GB card in such a manner that, when I open the file explorer, click on storage card, then I have a folder titled "card music" all of my artist folder...is there some way I can fix this so that the TF3D tab shows my albums in a "cover flow" type format instead of just the now playing file?

Rename the folder "card music" to "Music"

All my music is stored in a Music folder in the root of my sd card and does not show up, so this must not be a cure all fix

hmm. well it seemed to work for me.
I placed a folder at /Storage Card/Music
When i then did a soft reset (just in case) the music magically appeared on my music tab.

Yes, having all of the album art showing for the "cover flow" effect is what I am hoping for as well...

Use mediamonkey to attach album artwork to the mp3s themselves; no need for additional images in the folders.

Transfer to /StorageCard/My Documents/My Music/ and you are good to go. The first time you scroll to My Music it will show none found. Select an album, song, or all songs and it will then show up in TFLO3d. The music tab will always show the last song/playlist you had loaded when you scroll to the tab, so you shouldnt get the "No music found" message again.

This did not work for me. seems to be intermittent for people. as for artwork I have not figured that part out yet.

An inefficient workaround is put rename the album art to "folder.jpg" and put it inside the album folder and it should show up.

I used Windows Media on my PC to sync my music and downloaded album art directly through it.

If you look in the folder there should be a file called Album Art {12398525} or something to that effect. If you rename that then it will show in TF3D.

If you don't use Windows Media Player on your PC, you can go to Amazon and download the album art manually and then rename them and stick them in the correct folders.

I thought I saw a program that automatically downloaded album art for you but I don't recall what it was. If I come across it again I'll update my post.

Re: SOLVED!!! How to get the TF3D tab to show your music on your card?

I discovered a freeware app called Audio Shell that's been helping me fix ID3 tags in MP3 files, and also add cover art easily. I like it so far, it's very easy because it just adds a tab to an audio file's properties in Windows.

I've been using the mobile Windows Media player's update library function every time I add an album to the storage card/Music folder, is that not necessary?
