Actually, if you really want it to play perfectly smooth on the TP with its horrible video drivers you need to limit the resolution to half that & let it scale up to fit the screen.

There is unfortunately some truth to this, and one of the biggest hurdles is that Coreplayer's QTv mode doesn't work with the TV cable. So you need to find something that will play well in Directdraw mode or another player. It is indeed somewhat difficult to keep the full 640x resolution, but it can be done if you experiment a bit with encoding and/or accept a slight performance hit from full fps.

For the OP: The limitations you speak of are related to the fact that TV-out forces landscape mode. So the Weather screen of TF3D would not be shown in landscape. Other than that, anything the phone displays and outputs via audio is sent to the TV.

Anyone have suggestions / encoding settings that they are using to make the video playback with tv the best possible - smooth - in sync - etc..

I just got my vuzix AV310 video glasses and I need to find a good set of encoding properites that will make the movies playback smooth with tv out.. because these bad boys are NICE..

Is this thread only about video? Has anyone mentioned Powerpoint presentations?

Yeah, I know, I know, I know. Most PPCGeeks aren't into productivity and work stuff (hence very few threads about Office etc.)

There are a few limitations such as only VGA resolution and some flicker on projectors. But in a pinch, you do a Powerpoint presentation directly from your TP. Pretty cool.

I do find it a bit ironic that MS touts their WMO devices as better suited for business/productivity but most users prefer the entertainment aspects of it (like the iphone)

Is there a hack that will allow for Sprint TV to play through the cable? I would love to be able to pump The Disney Channel through the in-car screens to keep the kiddos quiet, but the screen turns off when I open the app!

Anyone, anyone? Is there a hack that will allow for Sprint TV to play through the TV-OUT cable?

I have the same problem. Sprint TV and TV-Out are not compatible on my Touch Pro, regardless which one I open first.

@jmorton10, how did you get this to work on yours?

This is an area of interest for me as well, I use Skyfire to watch Justin.tv and HULU, this would be nice to be able to hook it up to the bigscreen and watch there.

Where do you purchase one of these cables? How much do they go for?

If you use a program called "Quick Menu", which I couldn't live without you'll have easy acess to all programs and yes they'll all play through video out. Quick Menu can be found at Pocketpcfreeware.mobi Also gives you easy access to bluetooth, sips, favorites on internet explorer, and the ability to close all running programs.

Have you tried/verified this works with Sprint TV?
