I'm sure HTC has their hands full right now. I'm not expecting a ROM update until maybe mid '09.

It would be much more beneficial if they were doing a silent recall, on a come-in-the-store-for-a-touch-pro-problem-and-we-give-you-a-new-touch-pro-basis

Well i finally caved and did a rom update on the phone. After havingthe phone lock up on me 4 times since this morning. It is running alot faster but its still not great. Hopefully as time passes more people will be able to fix many of these issues

For me, GPS Lag has been a concern that I haven't seen anyone able to fix either here or at XDA.

My TP overheats on calls of 20 minuets or more and when streaming for extended periods. Could this be fixed with a Rom or Radio update?

Manufacturer updates are needed no matter what custom rom gets released. There are issues like gps lag that will never be taken care of by rom builders as they don't have all the information on the phone as it's manufacturers.

My prediction is that the next rom update will remove GPS lag and make the phone more efficient (faster and less laggy) and fix many bugs. I don't believe that FM radio will be enables as they disabled it for a reason.

what exactly is gps lag?i'm asking because i've never had problems with getting a lock unless i'm in the basement of a building.

i'm sure it would be as alot of people are returning their pros because of this.some will keep returning them until htc fixes this problem.
