Grand Central gives you a phone number that you can configure. You only need to hand out one phone number to everyone, and you can configure the number to forward to another phone between certain times, etc.

And for about the last 6 months or so they haven't had any additional invites to pass out. So...you're gonna be out of luck.

nice little service i actually have two numbers tied to my phone. using both from grand central.

i like it a lot. I was able to keep my hawaii number, and tie it to a 619 number here in san diego. Only problem is that I can't listen to the messages from the website, need to call yourself.

I use this as well, It's great for doing business with unknown people. Best example is craigslist. You can block a number if you get any weirdos.

For craigslist, use inumbr.com. Free and disposable.

I also do use GrandCentral, but use it for my home number. I can use any VOIP provider I want and not deal with the whole number porting game.

Exact reason why I use it.
I hate knowing random people have my real number.
