sprite terminator and aim
 

i'm having a problem with aim.. i can message my phone from aim and query it, and it returns the call history and whatnot, but i can't get the gps... anyone know why this won't work? the gps works on yahoo just fine...

if you are receiving from "Trusted device only" uncheck it and see what you get,:scratch:

i have that unchecked.. it works fine when i query it, and the gps message comes through fine on yahoo, but i can't get it to send me the gps location through aim. its really weird.

Can you elaborate a bit, or may be here is what I understand. You query/send text to your TP via yahoo mail and you get back coordinates but not via Aim, correct? How bout sending txt from a ppc/phone, do you get coordinates back?

i can query the phone through aim (call history, esn), but cannot get gps location. so i know i can communicate through aim to the phone, but for some reason, it just won't send me the location.

through yahoo, i can do both. it works fine through yahoo, but not aim.

i haven't tried texting from a phone, but it does work fine with yahoo.

its 1.2.0, build 186... its a very odd problem. you'd think that if i can communicate through aim, i'd be able to communicate with it through aim lol..

One would think...try and hit it with Aim after a fresh soft reset and see what you get...you know sometimes that Gps goes to sleep....eventhough I didnt notice that with the Pro like I did with the Mogul....we ll get it square...

i've tried that.. i uninstalled it, reinstalled it... the thing is, i msg the thing with the gps command from yahoo and i get it right away. i do it again, and i get it right away again. then i try aim 2 seconds later, and i get nothing.. i try yahoo again and i get it.. but the query command works fine through aim, so i know that terminator is working even through aim.

just got terminator. new to site. do you have to text "spritecmd then a space, password, another space, command? or do you make it all one solid word?

got the spacing problem out of way. text seems to go to my phone with terminator installed on it because that phone turns on but no sign of text coming in which i assume is correct. but i never get a reply text to the phone i sent the command from. what am i missing? how long does it normally take you to get a response text?

then something is definately wrong. i have spb suite installed. do you think it can be interfering somehow?

Look under sprite setting in your TP and make sure you do not have "trusted device only" checked, meaning your TP can get a text from any device as along as they have password correct

Nah man, I have spb suite too, no problem there as long as you do not have the phone you are sending a text from on the blk list :mrgreen:

in the terminator prog? or in touch pro settings? i dont see that " " anywhere in terminator

do you mean "accept non-partnered" in the terminator options? i have that checked. but regardless i sent text from a phone number on my partner list.

try a different cmd, not the gps. What version u have? I assume u installed to TP memory,right?

installed to device like they highly recommended. just got it last night so im assuming its the newest version. ive tried different commands like query and sprite but nothing gives me a return text.

So I assume that you have "gps tracking "checked and under options, you have "ACCEPT NON PARTNERED "CHECKED and your password is accurate when u send the text.

I am new to terminator also. How are you guys querying your phone through yahoo. I assume you are using two different accounts, (one the the pc and another on the phone). Is that correct? And if so then the terminator would respond the the window like an IM chat?

thanks hbenz for suggesting something as simple as uninstalling and reinstalling. something i know to do but didnt think about this occasion. it worked. here is my post on other thread i had with the details.

i uninstalled, soft reset, reinstalled, soft reset, did everything i did originally and now it works. i did have all the settings correct the first time but i dont remember it asking me to reset after i filled out all the program info the first time. this time it did and now it works perfectly and i couldnt be happier/ amazingly great program. and thanks for all the help

for pc the newest versions of AIM and yahoo messenger have SMS features. i know that yahoo works for sure. havent tried with AIM though. all you do is go to "actions" then "send an SMS message" enter number and then wait for reply

I dont use either, but I can say that you must get your phone number associated with your account. Or better yet try addind your number as a new contact, and then text to it,that is done in settings of course, once you do that you will threat your number as another user that you can send IM too...I have Yahoo, I dont even remember tha pass I will hook it up shortly...but that is a start.
