My Htc Touch Pro(Sprint) not recognizing micro sd card?!
 

Like the title explains My pro has suddenly stop recognizing my 8gb micro sd card. Its has worked since day 1 and has saved plenty of info on it thru phone but now i cant even access it thru the phone like its not even inserted.

I have taken and reinserted the sd card(no luck)
I soft reset the phone multiple times (no luck)

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.... Thanks in advance!:)

Before that, pull out the card and use a card reader to make sure the card is not corrupt. If it's not, back up the files on it, then format the card again. Insert back into the phone and see if it's detected. If so, copy back your files. If it's not detected, then ya, you might have to hard reset.

FYI, keeping ring tones on the sd card can cause corruption from what I have read so if you are doing this, I advise you to put them on the phone and not on the SD card.

Yeah...I've had a couple cards get corrupted over the last few years. Definitely follow this advice before jumping to a hard reset.

Thanks gentelmen i will try that as soon as i can! I will keep u posted if that resolve the issue and then try the hard reset!

Try compressed air in the contacts for both the phone card slot and the card itself. Even one speck of dust can make a difference.

I had that same problem once. I thought that the phone was broken. I had recently put some files on it before it stopped working. but forgot which files. I then gave it a complete cleanup and removed all the map programs that I didn"t need anymore.

The card worked after.

Is your card reader SDHC compatable? It might not be. Make sure it came with the card or can read SDHC cards.

O i c i used the usn and sd adapter that came with it and plug it into my laptop......

Hey Join the club, my verizon TP just stopped reading my 8GB Transcend SDHC.

It is readable by the card reader.

If a hard reset is necessary, is there some way I can make a backup? Perhaps another card will work, or over USB / FTP?

it just happened to me, sprint guy updated some stuff. see what happens. i did buy a smaller 2gig card instead of 8. don't know why but will see if it destroys this card
