My Girlfriends Pro does that. Mine just recently started. I made sure the card was formatted and virus scanned. There's something that was making her files corrupt - cause even the factory ringtones wouldn't work (just alarms) and WMP wouldn't open.

We just downloaded another MP3 player...Notrogen - it works great and we dont use the music tab.

Our only fix for it was a hard reset.

Are you using an SDHC card? If so, it could be possible that your phone isn't reading the entire capacity.

Well what we tried after talkin to sprint was puttin a few music files on the phone and taking out the card. Cause they tried to say it was the card.

And after a month after the hard reset, it happened again. It wouldn't play WMP, no ringtones for texts or calls would work. All system sounds worked, shutting down, coming on - all that worked. Just call stuff didnt. But we couldnt even go to the song and play it via WMP - it just wouldnt open.

So we just decided to use the Nitrogen player. Its cooler too. But I'm using a Scandisk 8gb SDHC card. Girlfriends has a 4gb. I havent had an issue with memory or the phone not recognizing that its a 8gb card.

I have this problem with my phone, too. I have to re-flash every time it happens. I'm in the process of re-flashing now.
