Touch Pro LED Circle Color

Has anyone confirmed 100% whether or not the LED notifier (the circle light) is only single color? I was hoping somewhere along the lines someone would develop a program that would change the color depending on the message type.

E-mail: Blue
Text: Red
Voicemail: Green

Or something along those lines.... It'd be pretty convenient.

That's a hardware issue. I doubt any software will change the color alone. If the hardware light itself supports multiple colours then yes, its possible. In such a case, there'd be different colour LEDs or filaments. But even if it did support more than just white, why didn't HTC take advantage of it and enable it on this phone for an even bigger "wow" factor?'
Would've been cool, actually. Instead it appears to be a single colour (that is, null colour) light and a series of different flashing patterns to indicate what type of activity is occurring.

I forgot the name but there was an HTC software that made the screen into a multi-color disco ball type thing...i tried to download it but it didnt work on the TP. Do you guys know of any software to make your phone into a club style light device?

Not unless you physically open the phone remove the white leds and replace them with different colors.

I was waiting for one of these posts... You do know that the blackberry pearl came with a static color "ball" right? But someone found out that the light would actually project other colors, and wrote software to take advantage of it. My question refers to that possibility, so unless you know 100% for sure that the LED's underneath are static white, don't assume.

Not sure if your aware of this.. someone posted a broken-down TP pics and all. If you come across the op maybe he can answer your question?

Until someone proves otherwise that is what I will assume... as far as I know the only multi color led they make is RED GREEN BLUE... not with white...

Re: Touch Pro LED Circle Color

if this were even possible with just a program, i may try it and that would be all. I personally like that it only lights up white since everything else lights up white..or green on the keyboard. Now if the talk and end buttons lit up green and red respectively i feel a multi colored center button would be more aesthetically appealing. Just my $.02

The thing that makes it unlikely as compared to the blackberry is the multi-segment nature of the TP's LED arrangement. Multicolor LEDs are quite a ways larger than single LEDs.

Agreed!!! Same thing with the Titan. Did you know it has White LED's for signal but they are not activated. No2Chem did something real quick with it but never conitnued.

You dont know untill you try.

Well the titan does have a multicolor LED and that's known from the start, eh? Doesn't it use several colors by default?

don't leds change color based on voltage?

Multicolor LEDs have essentially multiple emitters in the same "bubble" ...

I highly doubt that the led is multicolored but there is always a very small possibility.

Re: Touch Pro LED Circle Color

It's definitely a possibility. I remember the Blackberry deal with the different colors...

I doubt HTC did this though. Considering how much they tried to reduce production costs, it's highly unlikely they spent extra giving the Touch Pro extra colors for the LEDs while not even utilizing them.

could there be something in the registry that would hint to this being possible?

Most likely no. If at all possible, it'd be within the LED intermediate driver.

It is possible but not with the LED they have installed on the Pro it has to be a color LED to start with.
