Fix For Multi-select in File Explorer
 

I haven't found an actual thread for this, hopefully I'm not missing it... (Edit: I did find a couple references to it now for other phones, I originally found it somewhere on XDA though, sorry about that.)

I know people using the 20xxx ROM series are experiencing issues with not being able to select multiple files by dragging with your finger/stylus, and I may have a fix for that. It does not affect Outlook, but it should work for File Explorer. You have two options for this, a regedit or a cab that does the regedit for you. I posted the regedit in the thread for eRice's TP ROM but I figured I'd post it here for a little more exposure. Please let me if this works for you as well.

This does not require a soft reset, but you will need to completely close and reopen File Explorer if it's open when you apply the regedit.

The cab is attached in a zip, it does the same thing.

yeah, known about this for a lil while, NFSFAN told me about this in November. didnt know anyone else did though lol. this definatley works though ^_^

I'm not sure if there is a way to do it the same way as File Explorer, but you can do Menu -> Select Messages -> Several and select multiples that way.

Mutli select in Outlook...click and drag on multiple messages to select them.

Yup. I can't multi-select messages. It tries to scroll.

Hm. I am able to multi-select, but the key above does not exist in my registry. In fact Gestures doesn't exist at all under HKCU/ControlPanel

Yeah the key itself didn't exist for me, I had to add it. But Gestures did exist. What build of Windows Mobile are you using?

Don't forget, the touch pro has a full keyboard.

You can hold CTRL while clicking on messages in outlook to select individual messages or you can click one, then SHIFT click another to do group select.

The same works for File Explorer.

How do I find that? It's a stock Sprint ROM, 1.03.651.3.

It would be in settings -> about, but i believe stock is in the 19xxx series which doesn't have this issue.

Was this a stock Sprint setting? Because I can't recall if I had this before I flashed Y4J's ROM

Why would anyone take out multi-select from a ROM? It's so frustrating not to have.

They're not taking it out, the newer builds of WinMo have it disabled in favor of finger scrolling in file explorer. It's MS that's doing it, not the cooks.

Sometimes the cooks don't override the current settings to restore the multi touch as you're used to.

If it bothers you, ask your ROM cook to give you instructions on changing the settings
