Constant TF3D Weather Animations

The weather in TF3D is great, we can all agree on that esp the rain. However it ends, i think it would be great if the animations continued.

+1 for this. I would like to see more animations.

I hate the snow and freezing ones...but only because that means it's cold out.

lol, as though you didnt know it would be till you checked your pro, but yea +1 on the idea man, that would be cool, like if it was pouring have the wipers goin fast like on a car with a lot more rain and stuff

Re: Constant TF3D Weather Animations

If you tap the upper left bar (left of where it says "weather") and then tap the upper right bar, it'll cycle through all the animations... i do this when i want to show people the rain animation when it's not actually raining in my area. But yeah, i'd like to see continuous rain...

+1 for this idea but this won't happen as you may need to make this suggestion more to HTC/Tflo dev team...

Wow thats pretty tight, how did you find that out?

But anything is possible, and i think this idea is up there in making TF3D more showy than it already is. Constant rain and wipers, is also more realistic.

LOL just when you thought you knew everything about TF3D...another secret trick pops up. Thanks!

Re: Constant TF3D Weather Animations

I once clicked on the weather thing and all of a sudden it ran through all the animations at one time...I'm not sure why or how that happened but it was really cool (kinda like a power display of what the animation icon in TF3D could do) I wonder if someone else knows how I can bring that up again so I can use it to show people when they check out the phone ...

EDIT: Haha never mind, I just read the previous post...sweet thanks

Try living in North Dakota. I havent seen the temp above freezing in the last week.

I thought the weather cycle thing was common knowledge. A ton of video reviews on youtube for the touch hd, diamond, and touch pro show this. It's something that comes with the touchflo3d.

Its been below freezing here in kansas for over a week now too... hell it was 0 last night.

Anyone get their weather to update automatically? I have the both boxes checked in the settings and I still have to tap the Last Update to get it to update.

You mean, update when you're not on that tab? For me, it attempts to update as soon as I navigate to the tab. I haven't figured out a way to get it to update otherwise though.

I mean that I go to the tab and it will not update at all until I tap the "last update"

I had this problem too--I think it's a ROM issue. I had this problem on a few ROMs I used on my Touch as well.

The behavior you should expect is that it will update once you open the weather tab--not before. Some ROMs on my Touch update in the background, but the one I am running now only seems to update once I open the tab.

Hope that helps.

Might be a kooky registry issue. Have you done some TF3d changes? Yours is definitely not acting correctly.

I am running JD3.3 and did add my city using Weather Database Editor. I also changed some stuff using the Manilla Customizer. Not that big of a deal I guess.

Oh now that I think about it, this DID happen to me on my Pro.

Have you tried a custom ROM yet?

I did exactly what hibby mentioned when I first got my Pro, poked at it lol. Actually, i found it by accident and tried to recreate it by poking around. I should have figured you guys on here would love it, but at the same time I guess I expected it to be known already?

I actually saw it on some WM news site the other day too, and then ran into this thread... so I figured I'd post it just in case. Looks like that was a good idea. It has definitely helped give people a great first impression of the touch pro =D>

Mine runs rather smooth and snappy right out of the box... 11/07 build date. There are other problems but running fast is not one of them

You don't ever find yourself waiting on your phone to catch up to you?

jlam 12-22-2008 04:02 PM

Re: Constant TF3D Weather Animations

I thought I remembered one weather animation in TF3D (from a video review before I bought the phone) that showed the screen "freezing over" with ice around the edges.

Granted, I do live in Houston so there's not much opportunity for that, but even poking around in notoriously chilly locales when it was real cold, I haven't been able to find that animation. Did I make that animation up?

Yeah that sounds familiar. The title bar tap method doesn't show every animation, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's in there.

Try adding Antarctica to your list and see if it shows the animation lol.

Okay. Maybe I'm missing something, but where exactly is it that you tap? Someone else in my office tried it to and nothing. ](*,)

While in the weather tab, press under the start menu, and then under the task manager icon, along side the top text that says "Weather". You have to press it in that order, and not at the same time.

you tap on top two corners and you get little animation.

Re: Constant TF3D Weather Animations

Now that im thinking about weather ideas, i just thought it would be so amazing if say it was thundering the phone would make the thunder same thing for rain or hail. That may be far fetched, so i think constant animations for weather will be the most we can expect from it. Now we just need to get this ball rolling :)

My GOD... I was trying to figure out WTF was wrong with my phone last night. I was on this site, and my Touch wouldn't display the page right, and it had "artifacts," on the page. It was too laggy to use.

Turns out it was this snow ;)
