Gmail sending error really sucks!
 

Can't Microsoft or Google (a couple of rather large companies) fix the problem of Gmail sending quitting every so often? I have tried everything and I still get this error.
I think I found when it happens and it's many times at the worst time! I was trying to get a lot of e-mails out before leaving my house so I'm typing away and deleting the old messages as I go. I think it did the first e-mail ok but then I got the dreaded "Can't send the e-mail ... make sure you are connected...blab,blab, blab".
Only cure is to delete the account and thus losing all your outbox e-mails and creating it again. Then you wait for the download and when that is done I go back to correct the "misspelled" gmail.com domain cus I am ocd about this.
Does anybody know of a fix or work around? The Microsoft patch does nothing to address this. I download a week's worth of emails but I keep a copy on the server. I like being able to work on my e-mail offline like when I have no service (Sprint). Btw, I set it up IMAP.

He said he already applied the patch and it didn't fix the problem.

I too installed the patch and just yesterday got the same error. I waited a few hours and tried again and it worked. Like the OP said, frustrating....

Btw, the MS patch will not install on 20931 (from kitchen ROM). But as I said, I had it installed on the Sprint stock ROM but it did not prevent me from getting the error.

I had the same issue a few days ago. I went into my GMail account options and noticed that for my login it had the entire address in the field. I changed this to just my Gmail user name and my outgoing mail was on its way. Give that a shot...

use an aftermarket mail program, flexmail has no issues! :P

I have tried both ways in the past. Just now I switched from just name to full address with no change. Then switched again back to just name and tried it again. No deal.

Play close attention to what gmdpd and MaryGladys is saying. I did what they said and haven't gotten the error since.

Also, I installed the Microsoft patch and it didn't solve the problem.

Been trying the suggestions above for hours now but still have the problem. Will continue for a while longer. Even thought of dropping gmail but overall it is very good and I've had it since the early days (all my business and friends have that address).

Did you try the whole thing with the captcha thing? I think the error has something to do with logging into gmail and saved passwords.
