Internet Sharing DEBOCLE
Yea so i have the Simp Everything plan with sprint and tried to connect my macbook to my touch pro today and it refuses to give me an internet connection, so i proceed to call sprint and ask them what was going on and then they proceed to tell me that in order to access my internet sharing capabilities on my phone i would have to change my plan to a 900 min a month plan then add all these data plans then pay another $15 a month in order for them to turn that feature on on my phone...
Long story short ummm does anybody know any ways around this because i find this utterly remarkable that we pay so much for a phone and get an 'unlimited' data plan and cannot use all features on the phone nor the data. So can anybody help me? |
Re: Internet Sharing DEBOCLE
Debacle dude , that is bull man. Most of us here are running ICS one way or another, I saw a thread about Ics working with a Mac, as for me I am using it with Vista. Calling Sprint is a hit or miss, in your case definitely a miss..let me look up the Mac thread for ya:mrgreen:
Start here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...et+sharing+mac what issues are you running to? errors? can you describe where the ICS fails? |
Re: Internet Sharing DEBOCLE
i think you just didn't install the right (or any) software, cause mine works fine.

Re: Internet Sharing DEBOCLE
Don't quote me on this b/c I don't use a MAC. However, I think I remember reading a post a while back somewhere that the regular tethering hack worked. You just have to use bluetooth to connect and not usb.
CAB File here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...64&postcount=1 If you get it working please post back and let us know. EDIT: When they told you that you had to switch plans....I know you said your on simply everything, but is a family plan by chance?? |
Re: Internet Sharing DEBOCLE
I bet you anything this is a configuration issue.
However, if you read the fine print there is a 5GB/month cap on data for the Simply Everything plan. |
Re: Internet Sharing DEBOCLE
there is only a 5gb limit on PAM(phone as modem), and the air cards at 59.99/month. you can use as much data as you want on your phone as long as sprint thinks its only going on to your phone and not being used as a modem to a laptop. there are plenty of things on here that can make your computer use the phone as modem without subscribing to a PAM plan.

Re: Internet Sharing DEBOCLE
I haven't tried it with a mac, but I used the tethering fix in the "Touch Pro Essentials" Sticky. Have you tried that? All I have to do after that is start ICS, make sure it's USB, click connect, THEN hook up the USB cable.
If your computer can sync your contacts etc. with the phone normally, this should work too. |
