New Sprint Touch Pro will not update to any ROM - Page 5

I had similar issues the very first time I tried flashing my original Touch on a Vista computer. Vista can be a pain to be honest. I am going to try and walk you through something that may or may not help/work. But not until I know your current attempt has failed because honestly, it's a long process.

Well all attempts so far has failed. I can't seem to get this puppy unlocked. it just stays at the loadin..... screen until I soft reset it. I have even hard reset it and nothing. I would take it back to best buy and get replacement but they sold me the last one. LOL

I am at work so it won't be easy for me to walk you through what I wanted to. Depending on how your phone is set up will determine what driver it's trying to use.

Are you currently on a Vista computer?

Also, on your phone, go to settings/connections/USB to PC and tell me if Enable Advanced Network Functionality is or is not checked.

I read that post and ran it under administrative rights and still a no go.

you have ,net 3.5 installed on your pc right?

Ya looks like he did. I was going to have him switch to one of the two driver types in windows determed by that setting I posted above. If neither worked, then I was going to have him uninstall both and allow windows to reloacate and install the drivers. It sounds like he connects with active sync but then when it goes through the flash process, the usb disconnects then connects...sounds like his is not reconnecting. Possible driver issue I was thinking..?

Some firewall programs are by default paranoid enough to even block USB connections (NOD32 has done this to me). Attempt it again with all firewall software turned off for the duration of the attempted flash. The fact that he's getting errors like this makes me think this could be a connectivity issue.

If you tried it on another machine with the same result, again it might be the same firewall/AV software blocking it.

Aceracer, I think you were on to something earlier. I checked those settings after basically giving up and I removed the advanced setting Im now able to unlock the phone. I'm about to attempt to update the rom.
