yes, i bought it at best buy, it was about 2 month ago and they still let me replace.

Well, BestBuy was willing to trade it in.. But they were out and wern't sure when they would get the next shipment. Since the closest BB is an hour away I decided to just claim it on insurance. I went to the Sprint repair shop. They saw it and said they would order a new one for me but if that was the only problem I had I should keep it because they had people send in with much worse problems...

I had them order me a new one any way. I'll be damned if I pay this muc for a phone and have a defect like this on it...

I noticed that smudge on my old Touch right before I sold it. I, too, thought it was on the screen cover, so I removed the cover and there it was.. I think the cover may have CAUSED it....

You can do it at Sprint. I got mine replaced just fine, and not once did they ask me where I bought my phone.

The replacement I got last week isn't a new revision. It did have a super messed up screen though see here.

I'm waiting for another replacement at this point.

The replacement I got last week isn't a new revision. It did have a super messed up screen though see here.

I just looked at your picture of the screen and man that doesn't look right at all. I'm not sure if it was the camera or your phone. I suggest you to return it immediately.

Plus, since you just got a replacement, is your battery life gotten better and does it still over heat while charging.

I have notice i can last a day easily ( have not install s2u2 and configured email.), plus, my phone doesn't get extremely hot while i am charging matter a fact it doesn't get hot at all.

Edit: O yeah.. thanks for the touch pro essential thread it help out allot!

I'll be taking a ride to my sprint store to show them the rainbow in person. If they are willing to exchange mine for a brand new unit, I'll take it. If they will exchange it for a refurb, then I think I'll just keep mine, rainbow and all. Everything else on my TP is perfect and I don't want to risk getting something worse. The rainbow is only visible under florescent lighting and only when the unit if off. When its on, I don't notice it with either a dark or light screen so I can live with it. I will take a new one if offered though. I'll post back.

Just noticed the rainbow smudge today...but only after using the phone to text and then having the phone in my coat pocket while outside with a -23 degree windchill...fun :-(

Bingo, this happend on a few people's Touchs as well. My friend is carrying around his PPC6700 which has a 'splotch' the size of three thumbs, directly in the middle of his screen. I can't bare to look at his phone, but he doesn't mind.
