Bingo, this happend on a few people's Touchs as well. My friend is carrying around his PPC6700 which has a 'splotch' the size of three thumbs, directly in the middle of his screen. I can't bare to look at his phone, but he doesn't mind.

Re: WTF Rainbow looking circle

I have the same thing. I figured it was moisture under the clear cover on the screen. But, it's not always noticeable. I live in Minneapolis, and if I am outside and come back in, I notice it. If my phone stays indoors for a number of hours (overnight for example) it goes away until it gets cold in my pocket again.

It's really annoying, and when Sprint stores get the phone back in stock, I'll prolly take it to them for replacement.

Re: WTF Rainbow looking circle

It is a defect. Granted, a sophisticated piece of technology like the TP should not be abused, if taking it in and out of your pocket and general use causes this, that is poor.

I LOVE the TP, but this will be my second replacement when I get around to it. First one bricked, luckily, after I backed it up!

Angry Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I have a VZW Touch Pro and the smudge is affecting VZW TPs as well. I am on my second TP that is having this issue, and they are sending me my third one on Monday... One thing that shocks me is that when I call in and mention this with ANY other problem (like this phone has been overheating and parts of the liquid damage indicator sticker have turned red) they still replace the phone by calling customer service, with hardly no questions asked. Don't know what phone I'm going to if this 3rd one does it, but I'm not going to stick with the TP. BTW, this problem happened on my first phone 6 weeks after having it, and within 3 on this second phone...

Re: WTF Rainbow looking circle

I had the same issue with my Touch. It's either a small break that is causing the LCD to leak or the digitizer slightly pulled away. I'm on Verizon so this doesn't necessarily apply to you but I went into a store, they saw there was no other physical damage and the water sensor hadn't gone off and then they shipped me a new phone 2-day. I would hope Sprint or BB would give you the same service for a defect like that.

Re: WTF Rainbow looking circle

I have the same "oil slick" beneath my screen. It's visible only in the right lighting/angle, but I agree it's annoying. One interesting fact about it is that it seems to move when you tap different parts of the screen, and varies in size from day to day.

I also have a piece of chrome peeling on the right edge of my phone.

I have TEP, but I am reluctant to go for an exchange at the store because the TP is sold out everywhere!
