Oh, and the phone doesn't work (turns off by itself when keyboard is slid open).

I'm thinking of just keeping my phone until it fails cause I've kept it in perfect condition since I got it 3 weeks ago. I seriously thought the refurbs would at least have all plastics replaced including keyboard, but it was only the bezel... :-/
Keeping it until it fails is fine as long as you know it will be inoperable from the unit and you will need to use mymobilier to access the phone from a computer. Of my replacements only one was a refurb and it was perfect. For whatever reason I have always received new in the box. I would be willing to bet yours slipped by the quality control since when they refurb you basically get all new cosmetic parts. The mainly only reuse working internal circuitry. I would say call them and let them know what you received and I bet they will rush you another unit. Just another heads up in my experience Sprint does not count a missing battery as an incomplete return, so go ahead and keep an extra when you mail back your old TP.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

Just to let everyone know, I sent my phone in to PCD (Utstarcom before). a week ago. They called me yesterday and said the screen needs to be replaced but they don't have them in stock and will get them in a few weeks. I called back and told them that I was told it takes two weeks to get it fixed and I cannot wait indefinitely for them to fix it and I want them to send me a brand new one. The rep told me they don't do that and I need to tall to Sprint. Did anyone encounter this problem before? I was told by Sprint emplotyees at the store that they PCD will send me a new phone if they can't fix it. What am I missing? Thanks

Yep, you got it alright. I had that issue and I took to a sprint store and they replaced mines with a brand new unit, this was in the beginning of march. Unfortunately lastnight I noticed that the same thing is happening with the new unit. Damn this sucks, I guess I am going back to the sprint store again.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

Wow, it seems a lot of people are having this problem. *checks phone*....Yup I have it too and mine is only 4 days old . Although I didn't notice it until I stumbled across this thread. Its not really noticeable unless its tilted at an angle. I don't really want to read the whole thread but can somebody tell me if it can get worse and ultimately make the phone unusable. Right now its not a big concern for me since I cant see it unless I look for it.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

Just found this on my phone over the weekend. Looks like I'm going to the Sprint store today. Anyone have any issues getting theirs replaced.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

After the refurb that they sent had other problems, I called Verizon, and they told me that they were out of Refurbs, so would send me a new one.

Got it, all fine and dandy (ugh, now I have to spend the time to unlock, and flash, and do all of that again).

Yesterday I was preparing my phone that had a totally dead touch screen (screen worked, but touch didn't) to flash it back to stock, and low and behold, the touch screen magically healed itself. Either way, it has that huge oily looking rectangle, so it goes back today.

When you guys send back phones that were shipped as new to you (complete with all of the accessories), do we HAVE to send all of the stuff back with it, or can I keep the charger? Will they care? If so, I will send it all back, but if not, I could use the spare charger for work.

My friend and I kept everything. Even the battery and back. It says to just return the phone.
