My NIB touch pro exhbited this screen rainbow within a couple days of me getting it. I have not dropped it. I have had the screen protector on nearly the whole time. I'm taking it into sprint today to see what they can do.

my build date is jan-12-09, for those wondering.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I have a VZW Touch Pro and the smudge is affecting VZW TPs as well. I am on my second TP that is having this issue, and they are sending me my third one on Monday... One thing that shocks me is that when I call in and mention this with ANY other problem (like this phone has been overheating and parts of the liquid damage indicator sticker have turned red) they still replace the phone by calling customer service, with hardly no questions asked. Don't know what phone I'm going to if this 3rd one does it, but I'm not going to stick with the TP. BTW, this problem happened on my first phone 6 weeks after having it, and within 3 on this second phone...

So the Sprint repair center told me to contact HTC otherwise they cannot replace/repair the phone. They said HTC considers the rainbow to be a cosmetic defect rather than a operational defect.

Guess I'll call HTC.

I just spoke to a sprint rep today. their answer is that it's caused by hard finger presses.....

Peeling chrome is a known issue that may allow you to get your phone replaced if you fall within a certain ESN range. I cant find the numbers right now.

But the smudge issue is news to me. Try going to the Sprint store to see what they have to say.

Its not the chrome it sounds like the inner screen :-(

If you guys are having this problem just tell them that the phone turns off by itself sometimes, thats the easiest way to get a warrenty :-)

It can't be hard finger presses....I beat the hell out of my Touch and never had this issue.

To update, I took my phone back to Best Buy and they swapped it out, no questions asked! The new phone seems a little better in build quality. No squeaky back and the slide keyboard just seems more stout.

How long did you have your Touch Pro before you returned it to Best Buy?
