its not as easy as it sounds, if it can be done at all. The sms feature of poutlook is part of the rom and depends on alot of system files and .dlls to work

Are you saying that this is completely different than say the Mogul where I used to install the Palm SMS Application for text messaging?

yes...that palm sms app actually replaced most of the .dlls that are required for text. The vito sms app is different as it actually polls the poutlook text folder to display them.

To understand what I mean, delete all of the texts from poutlook and then close vito sms-chat and re-open it, and all the texts will be gone. Its not designed to take the place of poutlook, just present it in a nicer fashion.

I have tried using it, and it works fine, but the sms counter in tf3d doesnt know that you have read the message unless you go to poutlook and open it. Using it without tf3d is flawless

I'll take you word on it and not test it :) Not in the mood to re-flash today...

Thanks for the extended info!

you can use sms-chat with no issues. its just a .cab file, easily installs and uninstalls.

i have used vito sms chat in conjunction with tf3d, and if i open messages using vito tf3d does notice that the message was opened, the notification dissapears. I was using version 1.16 perhaps it has changed how it allocates messages?,
