Charging while using the phone?

Is this possible?

Sometimes when I plug my phone in to charge (this has occurred with both the wall charger and the USB cable) it won't charge. This usually occurs when it needs to be charged the most, ie when I am getting notifications that the battery is low.

Usually if I turn the phone off and then turn it back on, it will charge.

Today, I tried that, but then I tried to make a phone call, and it stopped charging. Is this a problem with my phone or something I'm doing, or is just the way it is? I don't understand why it wouldn't be able to charge while I'm using it as long as it's plugged in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

the heat sensor is stopping the charge. take the battery cover off, it makes a big diff. i also slide the kb out.

may i say your avatar is hot :drunken: that might be the reson why you phone is overheating lol. but as the previous post said along with make sure your not touching the screen while your on it the backlight will heat the phone up the most. having a bluetooth is best and will keep you phone charging better than holding it in you hand.

using speakerphone could help too if your situation allows it ... the TP's speakerphone works pretty well as far as ive seen :)

also try using Advanced Config or something similar to turn on the light sensor polling so that the screen and backlight turn off when you are in a call and you bring the handset to your ear ... those generate alot of heat I think ...

What they said.
I was shocked how much longer my phone would work with the backplate/keyboard trick.
Battery doesnt get nearly as hot.

Or you could try this:

Thank you all for your help! Removing the battery cover worked, I think. At least, it made the phone a lot less hot. My boyfriend insists that he can hear a difference when I put him on speakerphone and he hates it, so I wasn't able to try that for very long. Thanks again. :)
