Installing programs on the phone

How are you guys installing all these themes and programs onto your phone?

Do I have to click on the links through the phone or can I do so through my PC?

If through my PC, How would I go about it?

Sorry for all the questions, this is my first PPC

There are .cab files and .exe files.

The .exe files are installed on your computer, then synced to your phone.

.cab files need to be run from your phone directly.

What would you recomend as far as a speed enhancer program for the PPC?
