Problem: touch pro landscape mode not working
 

So i went to use my phone today and saw that when I tilt the phone sideways it doesnt go into landscape mode. Only when I slide the keyboard out.

I did a hard Reset and it still is not working. Anyone have an idea what happen?

After playing around with it some more it seems like apps are all working when I tilt the touch pro to its side. its jus that windows moble will not unless i slide out the keyboard.

DUDE!!!!!!! The phone only goes into landscape mode when you til it in opera browser. Otherwise unless you're using gyrator 2 the acceleromete only works in opera. So your phone is fine.

The accelerometer isn't enabled everywhere. You need a program like Gyrator 2 to make it work.

Apps works in landscape im talking about the main screen.

Here are the steps . If im looking at the main screen on the phone and i turn the phone on its side. the screen stays the same and doesn't go into landscape mode unless i pull the keyboard out. Up until this afternoon it would go into landscape mode once i turned the phone

you must have been running an application* that made it do that as the stock rom doesn't do that. good luck

Nope never installed anything on the phone that would do that. So your telling me that the touch pro/ windows Mobile main screen can not be viewed in landscape mode unless i pull the keyboard out?

Oh, it CAN be viewed in landscape if you want, but not stock as is.

There's apps* that can rotate the screen for you on command, or have it set screens, such as home, to landscape. But natively, stock, out of the box, my phone doesn't rotate the home screen. Only opera does that out of the box.

I used gyrator 2, and that rotated everything lol - which is a problem :P

This is so strange mine rotated out the box. I never installed any program like that. It just stopped working last nite so i did a hard reset and then it started working again . Now it seems to have stopped once again . why would mine do that?

Well, that is interesting. Don't know what to tell you but if you're sure, then I believe you. I know i've had interesting things happen to me and people don't believe me! So i'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

But if you want to rotate it, search for the gyrator 2 thread on here hahaha. A lot of people complain, but if you take the time and figure it out, it'll do cool stuff for you.

Could it of been a glitch that it was working for me? other then that i have no clue how it could of been working even after doing a hard reset 2 times

maybe it was something that was changed in the registry before shipped out? I'm sure it could be a tweek. But that's all i could tell you, only the real programmers could give you more insight.

what happens to ur phone when u put it on its side? does it just stay how it was or does the landscape menu come up? I just looked at my friends phone and his works.

When I put my phone on it's side on the "home screen" it stays the same.

In the txt message window, where i can reply to a txt, it stays the same.

Running touchflo 3d
nothing and nothing.

ok so there's only 2 ways *i* know how to make this happen:

#1 is gyrator http://gyrator.brins0.net/
#2 is something like spb that will rotate your screen for you http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/

I can tell you for sure that andranic is NOT crazy. same thing happened with my phone...i've had it only for a couple of weeks. when i turned it on its side it switched to landscape mode. i noticed the difference when i changed to the white flip clock. thats when i also saw (as i posted in other threads) that i couldnt finger flick on the main page anymore. i even uninstalled the white flip clock but it doesnt go away (even after a soft reset) and the phone no longer goes into landscape (on the home screen) when I turn it to its side.

I wish I had taken a picture to show you guys. I had no idea that this wasn t a normal thing. I have done about 2 more hard resets and It still wont come back. So everyone here agrees that if you hold the phone as if your going to use the key board nothing will happen on the screen until you actually pull the keyboard out. Wow now at this point I wish I had never hard reseted lol..

So how do I get my phone to view in landscape mode when I turn the phone on its side without taking out the keyboard

... I said before, you need gyrator 2.

And no, it's not automatic when you tilt the phone without that program.

I dont know what to say anymore lol this is so weird. Thank you for all your help with this. Can anyone tell me what I have to do in this program to get it to work with landscape mode when I tilt?
