I know mobipcs quite well. They are popular because they were the first to offer unlimited mobile before the major carriers did.

They are also popular because they will take any CDMA phone on their network. They unlock phones for you to use on their service. They also take hacked phones if you want. Basically they don't care how you get your phone to work on their service. I had a mobi phone that had broke. I took in a verizon phone and the guy just activated it. they even use tools like workshop to get the prl's or change whatever needs to be changed.

They sport old technology because that's how they rape you. They try to get you to pony up big bones for the unsubsidized phones. They don't want to lose money giving you a 250 discount on a phone with no contracts.

They bent over backwards to get my phone on the network. They even cloned a phone that was broken so I could use another phone that they couldn't get to normally work on their network.

As to the touch pro issue. they probably bought ignore from someone who converted. When I joined us they wanted to buy my phone and even my gf's phone for a discount on their phones. I asked if I could just use my own phone. They said no problem. They profit off of stupid people who actually buy their phones.

this is similar to what i know of mobipcs. i'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt for now. if he doesn't come back in a day or 2, then then i'll side with the nay sayers.

With that revelation.. I still have doubts, but I will let the facts make the decision..

i gotta say, im kinda leaning towards he may have had it working. he did make that post before asking for help and offereing to do whatever he could to get it working. im not saying he did have it working for sure. but im just not so doubtful anymore.

ok well I talked to the mobipcs guy again today who setup my phone. the guy IS a member here so I'm suprised he hasn't jumped in.
Anyway I think the ROM pack he used must of actually been from a GSM model...which would explain why some of the other stuff did NOT work. There is a cab file running around that supposely enabled the FM stero and app on the ATT models. Again untill I have the file from him we won't know for sure - but hey guys I tell ya - FM radio WAS workng. It made me plug in the wired headset (said it used it as an attena) - and so I tried it and it worked just fine. Soo whatever Spint has done to disable it has to be software and/or drivers not hardware.
At the point, this is my plan: I'm going to have MobiPCS do one of two things. A) they can just replace my phone that is jacked up with an untouched one so I can use it on Sprint or B) if they will sell me a new untouched one for 300 bucks, I'll keep the old one too IF they guy can actually get it 100% functional on their network. The bogus part of all that is that they guy claims the unit can only get 1x on their network so if you ask me that kind of makes the thing rather useless to begin with. But...if I have both of them sitting in front of me my gut tells me I can fix the first one myself...and if not I will simply take it to verizon and see if they can get it on their network. If not I will just leave it on MObiPCS putzing along at 1x and maybe in the future they can get it on their evdo rev a network. A real shame too - I like all the people I've met that work for MobiPCS..but hey they sold me an 800 phone that doesn't work and has a voided warrenty and replacement. I was looking forward to being on a 'little guy' network but I guess it's just not going to pan out.

Well the internet was working on their network - but only at 1x - so I think he didnt update the radio rom part. Like I said a lot of other things didn't work - such as the camera.exe and many of the other exe's that reside in the \windows folder. None-the-less it does prove that it is at least POSSIBLE to get the FM working because it was working at one point for me. Quite frankly I'm willing to blow another 300 bucks on a second phone partly so I can have him put this one back the way he had it and we can try to disect it...hahaha.
